From ultra skinny, to acid wash, to pleated denim styles, our jeans have done their best to change with the times, but there are certain styles that just never get old. Since you all have been asking, we’re taking the time to breakdown the best of the best Levi’s® denim. We’ll give you the lowdown on the history and design of six of our best-loved styles, plus breakdown the details of each fit to help you pick the one that’s right for you.
The Lowdown
Now this, THIS is the classic women's skinny jean. You know the one I’m talking about. The kind that magically lengthens and flatters making your legs look a mile long. The kind that really just goes with everything, from flirty blouses to laid back tees. Oh, and let’s not forget that it’s also the kind that is ultra soft and comfortable. Yeah, the 721 High Rise Skinny really does have it all.
The Breakdown
This style is slim through the hip and thigh like a good skinny jean and follows the trend all the way down to the leg opening. A ten-inch front rise hits right at the smallest part of your waist for an ultra-flattering hourglass look. Then the magic is in the fabric. The 60% cotton blend features elastane and viscose for an ultra-soft, mid-stretch denim that hugs your curves but won’t bag. It doesn’t get much better than that.

The Lowdown
In this day and age the “mom jean” is unavoidable. Even die-hard skinny fans have diversified their denim collection with the laid back straight-leg appeal of the flattering, high-waisted look. While there is no definitive “mom jean” here at Levi’s®, (although, let’s be real, all of our moms were probably rocking the 501® at some point) we do have a pretty solid contender in the modern Ribcage Straight.
The Breakdown
Our highest rise at 12 inches, the Ribcage is cut so that it is truly high-waisted on every body type (we see you, curvy girls). Slim through the hip with a straight cropped leg, this style nails the easy-going mom silhouette. A 99% cotton and 1% elastane low-stretch denim helps keep the fit close and comfortable with that extra bit of stretch. Hip-slimming, waist-defining, leg-lengthening. Is there anything the Ribcage can’t do?

The Lowdown
Another contender for supremacy of the “mom jean” category is the Wedgie Straight. This cheeky style is made for those who got it and are deeply interested in flaunting it. Named for its butt-lifting signature fit, the Wedgie takes inspiration from vintage designs for an old-school look that feels ultra-modern.
The Breakdown
We start with the cut. The Wedgie is snug through the hip and thigh with extra special attention paid to highlighting your curves. Waist-defining 11-inch high rise keeps true to the flattering “mom jean” silhouette. A tapered leg takes it back to its vintage roots, while a little bit of stretch in the construction makes for the perfect curve-hugging fit.

The Lowdown
The only thing more flattering than a good skinny jean is a shaping skinny jean. The 311 Skinny is just that. Part of the 300 series of fits, the 311 is built with Levi’s® Sculpt fabrication, so you know it’s going to be ultra-flattering.

Built to contour curves, lengthen legs and just add a little all around va va voom, the 311 skinny shapes through the hip and thigh with a nine-inch mid rise and a special panel design to slim that tummy. Levi’s® Sculpt with Hypersoft works its magic for an ultra-supportive super soft curve-hugging fit, while signature five-pocket construction and zip fly help keep it classic.

The Lowdown
Look up iconic in the dictionary and there will be a picture of the 501® Original. They’re literally the blueprint for every pair of jeans in existence (we know...wild, right?). Invented in 1873 by Levi Strauss himself, this straight fit jean has been worn by virtually everyone from the ultra-famous to the kid next door.
The Breakdown
As we said, this is the blueprint for jeans so the fit is what we like to call “regular.” The 501® sits right at your waist and features a regular fit through your seat and thigh. The straight leg and five-pocket styling keep it timeless, while a non-stretch 100% cotton construction makes these durable and easy to care for. Our signature button fly adds some old-school flair. Oh, and did we mention they break in beautifully?

The Lowdown
Have you all met our newest style yet? Allow us to introduce you to the 70s High Flare. This vintage-inspired look is plucked straight from the ’70s. It’s for the fashion forward girl — the girl that is looking to really push the boundaries of her creativity and showcase her own unique point-of-view. In short, they’re effortlessly cool in a laid back vintage-y way.
The Breakdown
So we did mention the ’70s and we definitely weren’t kidding. A high waist is universally flattering, flattening the tummy and elongating the leg line. Then there’s the leg. We went full flower child with a nostalgic flared leg. Classic Levi’s® style comes through with five-pocket construction and signature stitching.
